I will follow your recommendations and test a bit more before applying
updates.
Good to know that we have some time to make more tests before the next
release. I still want to provide a working SMB config.
Thereby, as said earlier, I added a custom class with a
package_config/custom and package_config/custom.asc for specific customer's
needs (unfortunately, like dropbox). This might be useful to avoid changing
releases files.

That's not too risky, theses are steps for learning new stuff :)
That is very nice from you. Indeed, It could help a lot.
Though, my stupid error reminds me to improve my own procedures and teach
me how to contribute with appropriate diffs.
