+ This patch avoids the freezing of the Praat GUI, which seems to be
+ assoociated with the huge number of ALSA error/warning messages like
+ this, when running Praat under PulseAudio:

+ This problem seems to have been introduced after the upstream version
+ 5.3.57, which is the last version packaged for Debian.  The
