+As discussed on debian-devel list[1] the large data are split from
+metaphlan2 download into this package and also converted to FASTA format
+which is smaller in size as well as human editable (see
+debian/get-orig-source to learn what exactly is done to create the
+source package).  The package contains a script metaphlan2-data-convert
+which converts FASTA format data back to the original format (and does a
+md5sum based check whether the conversion was successful).
