GNUmed doesn't call any of libchipcard* directly in any way (so far). It relies on the KVK service active and running.

This *may* change, however, with the new chipcardd calling a script when a card has been inserted. When we switch to using that mechanism we indeed need to depend on the new libchipcard-tools only.
