Interesting use case.  If I would have been in your shoes I would probably
have tried to solve this problem with a script which creates upper case
symlinks.

Thanks for your research on this.  I just checked in the packaging and
are currently building the package.  I wonder whether we should try
to convince RM to move the fixed package to Lenny.
