My impression is that all git repositories use this full source approach
so it seems reasonable (even if I'm quite uneducated about git).

For sure.  We seem to have our first git adictive (Charles) so why not
having more of them. ;-)

If you think there is something missing in our policy regarding Git it
is upon you to set reasonable default behaviour.
