upstream has stopped support for 2.4 with some issue somewhere that I
had forgotten about and 2.6 did not work yet either. Things might well
build, but when issues arise at some point at runtime, people would
start blaming us.

Somewhen in the past there was some bug report strongly suggesting the
explicit notion of 2.5. Wen can look at it again for the next upstream
release. Is there any particular motivation (biological ones preferred)
for you to ask?
