I have observed in the past that it is recommended to use the NEWS file
only in very rare cases because it usually interrupts the installation
process for manual interaction if you are using apt-listchanges.  I
personally do not know the details of hmmer-pvm but I would only use this
NEWS entry if there might be some interfaces (user created scripts) might
be broken because some binaries are not available any more.  If there
might be a drop in replacement with same interface (or if this could be
created via a wrapper script) I would leave out the NEWS paragraph.
