I ended up reverting the -Duselongdouble setting for perl 5.12.0-2.
I've verified on amd64 that this package builds fine now.

Although this bug does not affect Debian anymore, I'm not closing it as
it's still probably relevant for upstream. -Duselongdouble is a generally
supported Perl configuration.

Please consider informing upstream and feel free to close this bug at
your convenience.
