Hi,

I did not took time to follow all the long discussion about Vcs fields
as a consequence of the change on Alioth. Now we seem to face the
first consequence a mamber of the team has drawn:

Charles, is there any evidence, that the old URLs will not work any more
for the future and do you see any need to change this in general or is
this just a personal preference (if yes, what advantages do you see).
IMHO we should discuss the pros and cons to switch all our packages and
adapt the policy accordingly.

Kind regards

        Andreas.

PS: This has also consequences up to the rendering of the tasks pages
where I could replace old style URLs to new ones even for not
yet uploaded packages in case there is a visible advantage.
