* I would like to recommend Matyas as your student for Mentoring of the Month (MoM) for January! [0]

He is very motivated to learn about packaging for Debian, and has code relevant to bioinformatics (contact predictions: his code [1][2] can do
sparse matrix inversion, a key element of the newest contact predictors). We asked Dirk Eddelbuettel about his R packages, and he recommended
that Matyas does his work in e.g. the med team. It would be great if Matyas could learn the basics from you. Tomas is almost at the end of his
mentoring period, and Matyas is not entirely ready yet to begin, so I think January could work, if both of you like that.
