I understand that the source tarball does not ship code for the apps
anymore. It looks like they have parted the software in two different
bundles at http://packages.seqan.de/.

First the library and second the apps. The point is indeed that while
the lib is shipped as source code (that is mainly header files for
template-based software), the apps seem to be available only in binary
format.

I have subscribed to their mailing list and will ask them where to
find the source code for all the apps.

I'll keep you posted.
