[Debian-med-packaging] Bug#715449: emboss-lib will not install and libc6 dependency not met in Squeeze

Hi,

you claim to use Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 (kernel version is irrelevant for
this issue) but this does not seem to be the case because if you check

   http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/emboss-lib

it lists emboss-lib version 6.4.0-2. So you finally need to install the
library that comes with the Debian system version - otherwise your
chances to have an incompatible libc6 version are high.

Please check your file /etc/apt/sources.list if everything is correct.
You might also inspect /etc/apt/preferences that might contain some
pinning that conflicts with the currently available packages.

Please confirm that my suspection of trying to install an old emboss-lib
on a more recent system and whether everything looks OK once you fixed
this to enable me closing this bug report.

BTW, you obviosly did not used the reportbug tool to file this bug
report because this would have injected more relevant information I was
just guessing. For the next time you are reporting a problem please
type at the command line:

    reportbug emboss-lib

Thanks for your bug report in any case

      Andreas.
