Hi Andreas,

Thanks for cleaning this up. All that sounds fine. I can't think of a better idea for the velvet-long manpages than symlinking them, though it would also be useful to amend the manpages to say what build-time options were used to generate the "long" versions.

Cheers,

TIM

Hi again,

I have dropped the test_data.tar.xz approach since this tarball gets
additionally gz compressed which would be really confusing. Instead I
decided to xz-compress the single data files. Tim, what do you think
about this?

I just added another binary package velvet-tests containing the test
data for the upstream unit tests as well as an autopkgtest control
script and documentation how to manually run the test.

I wonder what you migh think about this.

I'm fine with the current packaging except that the velvet-long binaries
do not have manpages yet. Tim, do you think there is a simple way to
provide these (in the worst case as symlinks to the "not-so-long"
corresponding binaries?

Kind regards

       Andreas.

PS: Kudos to the very fast ftpmasters, accepting velvetoptimizer
    in a few hours!
