That's fine but I personally do not require this for sponsoring.  I
always fetch the packaging from VCS.

It depends.  Sometimes the lintian issue should remain as a reminder fro
potential future fixes.  An override is fine if there is really no point
that it would be fixed in the future.

Please always push as soon as you have done any relevant stuff.  This
is the usual way of cooperation in Debian Med team.  I'll have a look
there and will do the sponsoring accordingly.
