I just merged your initial work and my rename. It should be in
the git on alioth (do not forget to fix the URL in .git/config if you
want to fetch/pull)

No, I was nearly at the same point as you (I also tried to upgrade
to 2.0.1). I think the main issue is the new dependency on ngs-java...
