I was able to solve this - new version is now in Git.

I was able to fix two compule issues in the new version but now I'm
stumbling upon:

...
ar x libncbiacc.a
ld -o libncbiacc.so -shared *.o
rm -f *.o __*
rm -f *.o __*
ar x libncbicdr.a
ld -o libncbicdr.so -shared *.o
rm -f *.o __*
rm -f *.o __*
ar x libncbicn3d.a
ld -o libncbicn3d.so -shared *.o
rm -f *.o __*
rm -f *.o __*
ar x libncbicn3dOGL.a
ld -o libncbicn3dOGL.so -shared *.o
ld: cannot find *.o: No such file or directory

Any help is really appreciated - even urgently appreciated since one of
our users intends to use prokka which just says:

...
[14:08:27] Looking for 'tbl2asn' - found /usr/bin/tbl2asn
[tbl2asn] This copy of tbl2asn is more than a year old. Please download the current version.
[14:08:27] Determined tbl2asn version is 20.0
[14:08:27] Prokka needs tbl2asn 23.0 or higher. Please upgrade and try again.
...

While prokka is not (yet) officially packaged there might be other tools
out there requiring later versions of ncbi-tools6 as we can provide
currently.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
