No idea but according to

$ apt-cache policy python-typing
python-typing:
  Installiert: 3.5.2.2-1
  Installationskandidat: 3.5.2.2-1
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 3.5.2.2-1 501
        501 http://httpredir.debian.org/debian testing/main amd64 Packages
         50 http://httpredir.debian.org/debian unstable/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

everything seems to be fine.

Hmmm, but we want to have latest upstream in Stretch (no matter what
Python version), right?

I injected

    https://anonscm.debian.org/git/debian-med/cwltest.git

Please take over from here since you are the expert. And please make
this of high priority if we want to feed the latest and greatest code
into Stretch.

Done.

I excluded 2.x series from d/watch - please find a more sensible
solution for the future since I consider this hackish.

I admit I basically ignored cwl related packages since I assumed you
would care for the code where you are upstream. Please let us know if
you have reasons for not beeing able to care. We happily help to have
the recent code without bugs in Stretch but we need more information
from you to take action.

Kind regards

     Andreas.
