Just for the sake of interest: In how far is abyss blocking openmpi2?

Could you do us a favour and commit the changes to

   git://anonscm.debian.org/debian-med/abyss.git

The repository has ACLs set and any DD can commit.

BTW, just from looking at the patch I can not see in how far this should
fix the issue.  Are you sure that the patch is complete?
