well, it is not a hard dependency already... I just hate when
users keep reporting all those and then I need to react.  Prefer not to
upload if an issue is known thus having as many dependencies installed
during tests as I could "afford"

anyways -- only one left segfaulting (situation improved after I
realized that you switched to use py.test instead of nosetests),
for now will just disable that test... fighting other minor things ATM
;)
