I'll convert the current SVN to Git.  There is no point to use a
separate branch since there will probably no other commits other
than yours - but that's your decision.

In the Debian Med policy document[1] you find instructions how to get
Access to git.debian.org.  Please specifically make sure you read "SSH
tips" and specifically the link to wiki.debian.org given there and
follow the instructions there literally.  Please either apply for the
Debian Med team on the alioth team page (end of members list on the
right screen has a link) or just tell me your user login name and
I'll add you manually.

Meanwhile I'll do the SVN to Git conversion.

If you need more assistance to get running I'd happily provide it in
a Mentoring of the Month project[2].  Since I'm very happy that some
real user takes over which grants more competent maintenance than I
can provide I'm happy to help with any packaging question.
