I admit I can not easily reproduce the issue.  Could you please try:

   cp /usr/bin/imagej /tmp/imagej
   sed -i '1a set -x' /tmp/imagej
   /tmp/imagej YOUR_IMAGE  2>&1 | tee > /tmp/imagej.log

This creates a file /tmp/imagej.log with verbose output of the imagej
wrapper script.  If you send this to the bug report (may be you want to
change your local user name and hostname for privacy reasons - just have
a look whether the log might contain something you do not want to see
published) chances are good that we can fix the issue in the script.
