That is the usual layout.  You could have either have done a `gbp-build`
before you increased the version number to obtain the orig.tar.xz or
simply `apt-get source` to get the orig tarball.  Than you add the +dfsg
to the version and do:

   mk-origtargz <old_tarball>

to obtain the new tarball.
