[Debian-med-packaging] Bug#912451: staden-io-lib FTBFS on !x86: test failures

The reason I couldn't reproduce it is obvious with hindsight.  I have
two versions of one function for systems that I know handle unaligned
access well (for speed) and everything else.  I forgot to grow a
memory allocation after changing some data types.

Tested on ARM.

I'm not likely to make a new release imminently as I'm working on a
few other io_lib related things too, unless you reall need it.  The
commit above could form a trivial patch though.
