By all respect for your hard work for hurd, I do not think that's
rectified for software which in practical cases will just not be used on
hurd.  I'm in big favour of fixing all bugs (build of the package with
your patch is currently running) I'd consider it bluring the view of
maintainers if you have this policy for this kind of scientific software
which is in 99%+x running on amd64 only.
