But contrib/non-free packages could be binNMU'ed manually ... I'm doing
that regularily for nvidia-cuda-toolkit transitions. (And occasionally
for other transitions if someone asks me.)

I've just built and uploaded the missing binaries ... the maintainer
should check whether the package could be enabled for autobuilding [1],
s.t. source-only uploads would work in the future.
