This has been fixed in git repo, but I'm running out of time to finalize
this.
Discussion for the same has also been done on the mailing list

PS: this bug is on new version currently in unstable but *not* in testing,
and the bug report will probably not cause any removal warnings. It is
however best to fix this bug
