Yeah, I saw tracker.d.o and also your commit on salsa wherein
you build with -O0 prior to filing this bug.

Indeed. This is a regression.

IMHO the best "fix" might be to report this to upstream first and
wait for maybe a couple of weeks. If there is no activity, we can revert.

Sure, but I do not volunteer to add it.
I have hopefully compensated some of that with fixing several bugs in
past days :))
