This package doesn’t seem as abandoned as some of the other
dictionaries we have salvaged. The last upload was by the uploader
and was less than two years ago (packages like this often don’t change
much). If they are open to it we might just want to prepare an MR
that implements shipping the binary .bdic format.
That being said, the previous six uploads before the last one was by a
team member instead of an uploader, and nobody has responded to the
bug report you referenced, including to an offer for a patch. So, if
the uploader or a member of the team responds with an offer to
integrate a patch that would be preferable. But if there is no
response, I am fine with salvaging the package and adding ourselves as
uploaders. I think it is always best for each package to have someone
as an uploader who responds to bug reports in a timely manner.
