Thanks a lot for the patch.  When I was building the package
dh_makeshlibs entertains changing the symbols file into something else
including Debian revision which is wrong.  This has nothing to do with
your patch for sure.  However, since maintaining the symbols file is
creating way more work than this package is worth spending I decided to
remove the symbols file at all.
