I scrolled through upstream changes diff and I happened to have
spotted a src/word-map.h file that seems to descend from a
former src/wordmap.h. The build error feels like a leftover
inclusion of the former wordmap.h instead of word-map.h.
The watch file is tracking the head of upstream git tree. I've
a slight concern that there could be other more subtle errors
lurking in the software if this kind of error makes it upstream.
