[Debian-salsa-ci] (Ab) using salsa-ci for a mastodon bot?

Hi,

I created a simple bot that shall post once a week a random package to 
the Debian Astro mastodon account (@DebianAstro at astrodon.social):

To keep it simple for me, I would like to run this automatically every 
week from Salsa's gitlab CI.

Is this possible, or discouraged? If this is possible, what is the best 
setup in .gitlab-ci.yml here ? I want to use "testing" as distribution, 
since the package list is taken directly from apt.

(Additional hints how to write a bot for a strawman are ofcouse welcome 
as well).
