Hi Dominique,

I agree. I also understand the concerns of Andreas that open bug can attract
goodwill that is better to be focused eleswhere, so if you think it helps, the
severity of the bug can be lowered to even whishlist.

Lastly (and this is the main motivation for this message), I would like to
advertise one recent new function of the Debian bug tracking system, summaries.
You can find some explanation in the following announcement:

If the bug is likely to stay open for a while, that is a probably a nice
feature to play with.
