Please, provide the following outputs (from [1]):

$ lspci -v|grep VGA
$ glxinfo | grep render

After googling, a workaround could be LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE variable

$ LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 critterding

And trying with proprietary drivers [2], does it solve?
