So I would propose to take the file
jhdf-2.5/ncsa/hdf/view/icons/hdf_large.gif, which is included in the
source package and forget about the image attached.

I have to deal with some users, which can not follow me, when I do work
on the command line. That image should be more an eye guide in graphical
file browsers, menus... and not really sophisticated.

Thanks for that invitation. I might ask a colleague, who is more into
'pixel free' images. - I just do not have the time for it.

Thanks for the hint, I will have a closer look to that and correct these
settings and integrate the mimetypes more properly.
