Well, the SVN is not so bad because it is already a release candidate 3.
I am waiting for feedback to release 4.4.1.
Nevertheless, since I expect you to have troubles with some setup.py
4.4.1 changes (made for Debian users by the way) I send you a 4.4.0
Patch attached.
It fixes the locale issue but nothing else.
