In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

Updated patch for 5.1.11.dfsg-3 version.

  * Merge from debian unstable. Remaining changes:
    - debian/patches/fix_ftbfs_with_binutils_gold.patch:
      + Reorder LDFLAGS and add -lscotch-5.1 to fix ftbfs with binutils-gold
