*** Breaking news!!! ***
The upcoming Open CASCADE Technology version 6.7.0 will be licensed
under the GNU LGPL v2.1 (+ some minor additional permissions).
For further details, please read
http://bugs.debian.org/680738#27
What does this mean for bug #698527 ?
Once an LGPL-licensed oce lands in Debian and elmer depends on that
package, it will be possible to close this bug report, *as long as* the
OpenSSL linking issue has been solved.
Please re-read the original bug report for further details on the
linking relationships:
http://bugs.debian.org/698527#5
Hence, I recommend to investigate whether /usr/bin/ElmerGUI.real may be
linked with GnuTLS instead of OpenSSL.
Or, alternatively, whether the linking with OpenSSL may be disabled.
I am looking forward to seeing ElmerGUI re-enter this Debian package.
Bye!
