Bug#717363: metis: FTBFS on i386 and mips: tests fail

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

The i386 and (big-endian) mips builds of metis both encountered test
suite failures: graphchk failed on both architectures, and gpmetis and
ndmetis both additionally failed on mips.  Could you please take a
look?
