I fixed the build failure with a patch from upstream, so #742814 is indeed
closed.
There is no upstream support for Thumb assembly. You already reported this
in #649740 and that issue remains open with a request for help from upstream:
This looks incomplete, and is not documented. I will not apply a
patch in such a state, sorry.
