file missing from AMD64 .deb?

This command:

dpkg-deb -c ./python-vtk6_6.0.0-4_amd64.deb  | grep CommonCorePython

only shows a link, but no file.  The file

x86_64-linux-gnu/libvtkCommonCorePython27D-6.0.so

is not installed with the .deb file.  I have tried to find it or posts
regarding this but no luck so far.
