Package: gnuplot5-qt
Version: 5.0.0~rc+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
Since recent versions of gnuplot, the wxt terminal is no longer
available, and a similar replacement is the qt terminal with
gnuplot 5 by using "pause mouse close" after the plot (with the
wxt terminal, -persist could be used to keep gnuplot running).
This will allow the following bugs to be closed and fixed:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=711139
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=711141
However, when closing the window either by typing 'q' or via my
window manager, gnuplot is still running and freezing.
For instance, consider a script with:
gnuplot <<EOF
plot '-' using 1:2 t '' with line
0 0
10 10
e
pause mouse close
print "Done"
EOF
One needs to type Ctrl-C, so that gnuplot resumes and outputs "Done".
There's a similar upstream bug:
http://sourceforge.net/p/gnuplot/bugs/1489/
but I don't get zombie processes: gnuplot is still really running.
