debian/control: python-zodb,
sage/src/doc/en/reference/databases/index.rst:Sage includes the ZOPE object oriented database ZODB, which
sage/build/pkgs/conway_polynomials/SPKG.txt: * #12205: Rewrite database to not use ZODB
The last line says everything. (And the upstream documentation should stop referring to it.)
(I don't use sagemath and that's the only dep I have checked)
The long story is that I was surprised to see the popcon stat of python-zodb increasing so much recently. Which would be nice if it was for a good reason (after reading https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/10353 I think that upstream underestimates ZODB but well, maybe there are other DB that fit better for their use). Graph of both sagemath and python-zodb:
https://qa.debian.org/popcon-graph.php?packages=sagemath+python-zodb&show_installed=on&want_legend=on&want_ticks=on&from_date=2016-11-01&to_date=&hlght_date=&date_fmt=%25Y-%25m&beenhere=1
In any case, I'll have to care about reverse dependencies. There will be major updates of ZODB this year.
Julien
