Hi, I am also getting this same error message while trying to run some
examples from pyopencl

It seems like issue with beignet-1.3.1 package.

I am running debian buster & beignet=1.3.1-1

This is the message I am getting
ASSERTION FAILED: sel.hasDoubleType()
  at file /build/beignet-1.3.1/backend/src/backend/gen_insn_selection.cpp,
function void gbe::ConvertInstructionPattern::convertBetweenFloatDouble(gbe::Selection::Opaque&,
const gbe::ir::ConvertInstruction&, bool&) const, line 6148
