Though, IMHO the proposed fix is
a) too specific to kFreeBSD (while there is no need to make it so)
b) not forwarded upstream

I took the liberty of creating a different patch, which fixes the build
on both kFreeBSD, and Hurd as well, and forwarding it upstream:
