I don't know if you saw this bug and Yavor's response at
https://bugs.debian.org/885742

Are you interested in talking to upstream about getting access to the
gtk3 port of linsmith?

linsmith is one of the last packages using libgnome in Debian and the
Debian GNOME would really like to get libgnome removed.
