Bug#911890: [opengm] FTBFS with boost1.67

Package: opengm
Version: 2.3.6+20160905-1
Severity: wishlist
User: team+boost at tracker.debian.org
Usertags: boost1.67

Dear Maintainer,

your package fails to build with boost1.67. You can find a build log
attached. If you want to attempt the build yourself, an updated version
of boost-defaults which brings in boost1.67 dependencies can be found
adding this line to your sources.list file:

  deb https://people.debian.org/~gio/reprepro unstable main

This bug has severity whishlist for the moment, but it will raised to RC
as soon as version 1.67 of Boost is promoted to default.

More specifically, your package fails building because it relies on the
old boost::python::numeric interface, which has been removed from Boost
and substituted with boost::python::numpy. Unfortunately porting your
program to the new interface is not a trivial change, and apparently
upstream is not currently interested in doing the port[1].

Ubuntu "solved" this issue by disabling Python wrapper[2]. It is not a
nice action, but it might be the only viable one for the time being.

Please consider adopting Ubuntu's patch, insisting with upstream about
porting to numpy, or doing the port yourself.

Thanks and all the best, Giovanni.
