Dear Drew,
CeCILL asserts that the CeCILL license is GPL-compatible.
And indeed it is, thanks to an explicit compatibility clause (5.3.4).
The [FSF confirms] the compatibility.

However, the issue we are talking about in this bug report is
*completely* unrelated to the CeCILL license, unfortunately.
It is instead due to the CeCILL-C license, which is GPL-incompatible.
