Bug#943786: lmfit-py: failing tests with python3.8

Hi,

I tried hard to get lmfit-py (now at upstream version 1.0.0) building
but I endet up with 


build succeeded, 73 warnings.

The HTML pages are in build/html.

Exception occurred:
