   * What led up to the situation? compiling a fortran code using plplot.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)? labelling plots with pllab()
   * What was the outcome of this action? All characters are greek
   * What outcome did you expect instead? Roman letters and only greek letters
where requested.
    * More information: I compiled plplot-5.14.0 from sources downloaded from
sourceforge and verified on my Debian 10 box the behaviour. I also compiled
plplot-5.15.0 from sources, also from sourceforge, and this shows the expected
behaviour. Pictures are attached to show what I tried to describe.
